BASIC
BASIC: Be More Human
Client: BASIC. BASIC is a creative agency that builds brands through Systems and Stories™.
Challenge: Launched in 2011, BASIC has quickly grown to become a premiere Experience Design and Branding agency in San Diego. As the agency transitioned from a boutique, start-up agency to a mid-size, full-service creative agency, it became increasingly important to grow the creative team, marketing efforts and self-promotional budgets and resources of the agency. That’s where I came in—I was hired early in BASIC’s first office and second year as employee #8. In addition to all copywriting, creative and strategy responsibilities, I was tasked with development of internal culture and all digital marketing efforts for both clients and the agency.
As part of my Digital Marketing Masters Thesis, I created a business and marketing plan for both BASIC and MODE 3 (my freelance creative studio). This comprehensive, multi-channel plan included both online and offline tactics, such as: branding, social media marketing, Organic SEO, Email marketing, website copywriting, blogging, press releases, monthly analytics reporting, quarterly events and event marketing, monthly off-sites, quarterly parties and more employee-focused developmental and training programs, perks and benefits initiatives..
Medium: Web, Print.
Capability: Search, Social, Local, Email and Event Marketing; Public Relations; Web, Print and TV/Video Copywriting.
Role: At BASIC, I wore many hats. Originally hired as a Senior Copywriter, I also doubled as a Strategist and was eventually promoted to Digital Marketing Director for the Sony and REI pitches and work.
